The Preschool Program serves children from 2 ½ years (potty-trained) – 5 years (Full-day Kindergarten). We offer full day care, half-day care, and a preschool program. Full-time and Part-time schedules are available, with a minimum two day schedule. The children are grouped in classes by age. The teacher stays with the same group for the entire program (summer/fall), adjusting lesson plans to meet the needs of the children enrolled.

Curriculum
The program is based on a rotation consisting of 3 areas that all children get to play in daily.
Art activities are for developing fine motor and sensory skills. It is where cutting, gluing, painting, all the messy stuff is done. Large motor skills develop coordination, and cooperative skills.
Academic activities include sorting, sequencing, pre-math, pre-reading, and pre-writing. All areas include activities for developing social/emotional skills as well as problem solving techniques.
During the Day
GBH will provide an AM snack, lunch, and a PM snack on a 4 week rotating menu.
All children will play outside at least once per day, weather permitting. The playground is fenced in and has equipment for climbing and sliding as well as large open space for running and playing group games. We also take the children on walks around the neighborhood and on field trips. A nap and rest period is included daily in the afternoons for children under 5.
Field Trips
Field trips are scheduled every month for children depending on age/classroom. Participation is optional, however if you choose not to participate you will need to find alternate care. We use a bus service for transporting us on these trips. Each trip will be an additional cost per child.
